Saab PhoeniX concept returns to the origins of the brand

A year after independence from General Motors concern, SAAB company rises from the ashes with a renewed line of 9-3, as well as the concept car PhoeniX. The Swedes brought to the Geneva Motor Show in 2011 an unusual concept, the design of which the company calls the word “aeromotional”. It symbolizes the rebirth of the innovative spirit and passion that were given the first car brand Saab. When designing the concept Saab PhoeniX its creators were inspired by aircraft, the release of which is starting its activities and the Swedish firm. The car has a complicated relief of the bonnet, doors opening upwards and unusual wings behind the rear uprights. Interior sporkara got formula 2+2, in the style of minimal. The center console is an 8-inch infotainment system IQon, is based on Google Android. The movement of Saab PhoeniX concept results in a 1.6-liter gasoline engine 200 hp (250 Nm), which helps the small 34-horsepower electric motor eXWD, the rotating wheels of the rear axle. Hundred-seat concept is able to gain 5.9 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The company also assured that the average fuel consumption of a sports car in the combined cycle is 5.0 liters per hundred kilometers.
