The top-loaded “off-road” SUV Range Rover Sport SVR can acquire a lightweight modification. This is reported by the publication Motoring, referring to the words of the chief engineer of the project Ben Verekchia. Specialists in Special Vehicles Operations plan to lighten the weight of the car by 24 kg by replacing the original brakes with special carbon-ceramic mechanisms, which are being developed from scratch. But only the replacement of brakes is not limited to – in SVO also consider the option in which the car will lose the rear row of seats and receive a safety cage. At the moment, “the hands” of the unit’s employees already have several working prototypes of such a machine, involved in a number of tests. It is known that the lighter version of the SUV Range Rover Sport SVR will receive special chassis settings (there will be two options available). At the same time, there is no information on the change in the 5.0-liter V8 engine, which now produces 575 “horses” on this modification.
