Having won on the eve of the Grand Prix of Austria in 2014 the first row of the grid pilot Williams still not managed to keep behind the super-fast Mercedes of Nico Rosberg, who won the race, even more strengthened his lead in the standings. Starting from pole position at the top of Felipe Massa confidently kept leadership, and Bottas lost to Rosberg, but almost immediately regained the second place. But Lewis Hamilton slipped from ninth to fifth place, and then went out in fourth, ahead of Fernando Alonso. On pure speed pilots Williams kept a stiff upper lip, but conceded they part of the strategy and the work in the pits. Most disappointing to be Felipe Massa, who after his first pit stop, fell back to fourth place, while Walter was the second, conceding nevertheless ahead of Rosberg. Hold Hamilton behind Bottas still he failed, after finishing Briton in third place, which, however, he was very pleased. But Felipe remained fourth. Fifth checkered flag saw Fernando Alonso, while his team-mate at Ferrari – Kimi Raikkonen closed the top ten. Sixth finished Sergio Perez, who spent a great race. But Mexicans start and did only 15th, while on the part of the race he even led. His team-mate Nico Hulkenberg was eighth, but on the last lap he managed to beat Daniel Riccardo (8th place), the German moving away to ninth place. Also in the top ten finished Kevin Magnussen at McLaren, finished the race in seventh position. Technical problems have arisen and on the car Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, leaning on his lap at the very beginning of the race. Thus, the home for the group Red Bull race ended very sadly. But overall, the Austrian Grand Prix, returned to the calendar after a 11-year hiatus, proved to be interesting and full of fight. The next race will be held in two weeks – it will be the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
