Mercedes-Benz is working on a sub-brand for electric cars

According to Bloomberg the foreign publisher, Mercedes-Benz plans to create a separate sub-brand under which will be released exclusively electric cars. Name of sub-brand is still being debated. Recall that in the Mercedes-Benz is also working on a new platform that is likely to get a EVA name. This truck will be the basis of at least four completely new electric models of the brand – two sedans and two coupe. It is reported that the development of the new platform Germans invest about 2 billion euros, and its construction will involve a number of components from the modular MRA chassis, which built a model of the family C-Class and S-Class. The first of four electric vehicles will be the future mid-size crossover, the concept of which the Germans promise to show at the Paris Motor Show 2016. The production version of the electric car will become a direct competitor to the Tesla Model X. It is expected that when fully charged, the model will be able to pass up to 500 km. Mercedes-Benz will establish mass production of electric cars at the plant in Bremen, where also will be available a new version of crossover the GLC F-Cell, which has received a power plant on hydrogen fuel cells.
