In 2002, the European subsidiary of Ford has introduced a compact hatchback Ford Fusion, built on the Fiesta five generations. But unlike the latter, Fusion was a higher body, which allowed to increase the space in the cabin. Externally, Ford Fusion came out quite modest, while maintaining some of the characteristics of their donors, including calling on the hood and fenders and headlamps positioned vertically on the rear rack lights.

Three years later, Ford Fusion has undergone a slight restyling, in which got retouched optics and modified bumpers.
