At the Paris Motor Show in 2014 the presentation of the five-door Audi TT concept, to get to the title prefix Sportback. The prototype built on the same modular platform MQB, as the last-generation models of the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf 7.
Overall length of the prototype is 4470 mm and its width and height reach 1 890 and 1 380 mm, respectively. When compared with the novelty of the new Audi TT Coupe 3, the concept has turned out 290 mm longer, 30 mm wider and 60 mm higher. As for the difference in distance between the axes, then the concept of wheelbase mm 2630, which is 120 mm longer than that of the production model.
The heart of the Audi TT Sportback Concept is a modified 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with direct fuel injection system. Engineers eased its design and install the system pressurization with high pressure up to 1.8 bar.
Upgraded engine power of 400 hp and 450 Nm of torque available in the range of 2400 to 6000 rev/min.The powerplant is paired with seven-speed “robot” S tronic. In addition, TT Sportback received wheel-drive system Quattro.
The maximum speed of the vehicle has not been disclosed, but from zero to hundreds five-door accelerates in just 3.9 seconds. Claimed fuel consumption in combined mode is about 7.0 liters per 100 km, while CO2 emissions into the atmosphere – 162 g/km.
Design interior of the car combines the features of a coupe and roadster series. With his trim Germans used high-quality leather, aluminum and Alcantara. Inside, the prototype, designed for four people, instead of the dashboard mounted 12.3-inch screen.
The front car was “McPherson”, and set the rear suspension Four-link. Among other features of the prototype can be mentioned 21-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust system and laser lights.
Run whether Audi TT Sportback in a series? Answer is no, but the company has long been talk of the possibility of replenishment of the family sports car TT, which means – the chances of the concept presented in Paris is very high.
