Volvo has presented two concept cars

May 18, 2016 Volvo has held a presentation of two concepts that were named 40.1 and 40.2. It is expected that in the future would be the first serial SUV HS40, which will replace the V40 Cross Country, and the second – will replace the Volvo V40 hatchback.
It is remarkable that now the Volvo 40.2 concept is not a hatchback – it liftbek, which is very similar to the sedan. By the way, the future ruler of the fortieth series replenish high-grade sedan and station wagon. So it is possible that the version 40.1 – is a pre-production version of the model of the S40 new generation.
Externally, both prototypes made using the elements of the production vehicles. Both models flaunt diode lights in the head optics in the form of “Thor’s hammer”, the rear lights to remind liftbek similar to the sedan, Volvo S90, and the grille on the SUV is made in the style of the older off-road vehicle the Volvo XC90.
Interior concepts has not yet declassified, but the company promises that the car will have a modern interior in Scandinavian style with high-quality materials as well as the presence of the most advanced security systems.
The basis of the machine lay a new modular platform CMA (Compact Modular Architecture), which was developed by Swedish experts and Chinese engineers from the company of Geely. This liftbek fully equipped with electric propulsion, but parts of it were not disclosed.
