Volkswagen has brought to the Geneva Motor Show in 2014 the concept of a compact crossover T-Roc, the production version of which should take place in the line producer on the step below the Volkswagen Tiguan.
The basis of the prototype went to a modular platform MQB, the overall length of VW T-Roc Concept of 4197 (the value of the wheelbase – 2595), width – 1831, height – 1, 501. Thus, the model turned out to be 247 mm shorter at 22 mm wider and 202 mm below the Tiguan.
Under the hood Volkswagen T-Roc is located 2.0-liter diesel engine from the Golf 7 GTD hatchback. The engine produces 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque at the peak, which is transmitted to all wheels through a 7-band robotised transmission DSG with two couplings.
From zero to hundreds of crossover accelerates in 6.9 seconds and its top speed of 210 km/h. The driver can select one of three movements: Street, Offroad and Snow. Each of them is changing the algorithm of the system of all-wheel drive 4MOTION, predach transmission and electronic assistants.
Externally Volkswagen Concept T-Rock was quite far from the conveyor option of presenting themselves three-door with LED optics and equipped with foglights and PTZ cameras for off-road mode, as well as a removable roof consisting of two halves.
Inside SUV boasts a fully electronic instrument panel as a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches, an image can be completely changed (the same will be installed on the coupe Audi TT 3 generation), as well as integrated into the center console responsible for the management and the Media climate.
It is expected that the production version of the concept of T-Roc presented in 2016.
