At the end of August 2017, KIA company updated the K4 sedan, the “twin brother” of which is the Hyundai Mistra. Restyling version of the model was named Cachet, which means “print” in French. In terms of exterior design, the updated Kia K4 Kachet 2018 has changed the grille, which now has vertical bars, which is very rare for South Korean models. Changes were also made to bumpers and lighting, and experts Kia refused to fog lamps – instead of the latter, the sedan now only diode navigation lights. As for the interior, it remained the same, while the Koreans installed in the cabin more modern multimedia with 8.0-inch display and support for Apple CarPlay. Note that for passengers at the rear there are additional ventilators, which are located between the backs of the front seats. The back of the rear sofa does not fold, but the transportation of long loads is possible thanks to a special hatch. Being built on the KIA ceed hatchback platform with a rear multi-link suspension, the new KIA K4 Cachet 2017-2018 sedan achieves a length of 4,720 mm, with its wheelbase at 2,770 millimeters. A distinctive feature of this sedan is the foot drive of the parking brake. During the restyling, the new model was deprived of a 2.0-liter atmospheric, so now only 1.8-liter MPI four-horsepower 143 hp remained in the Kia K4 power range. And turbo engine T-GDI in the volume of 1,6 l which develops 175 forces. The first works in conjunction with a six-speed automatic, and the second – with a seven-band pre-selective robot. The basic equipment of the four-door includes two airbags, fabric interior trim, and a simple audio system. More expensive versions of the model have dual-zone climate control, driver’s seat ventilation, rear-view camera, leather upholstery, panoramic roof and electric front seats. In the Chinese market, for which this model was developed, the updated KIA K4 Cachet will be on sale in autumn 2017. The prices for the car are not specified.
