In 1981, 10 copies of the BMW M1 AHG Studie were produced, and now one of them is on sale. The corresponding announcement appeared on the MotorGT website.
A distinctive feature of this version is a wide aerodynamic body kit, with the exhibited copy being really special. The design of his body is made in the style of racing cars of the Procar series BMW M1 (auxiliary championship of Formula 1, which was held in 1979 and 1980).
This modification was finalized by the AHG Motorsport division and boasts the presence of an adjustable racing suspension and 16-inch BBS wheels with different tires.
In the movement of the rarity, BMW M1 AHG Studie leads the standard engine, from the conventional M1, boosted from the original 277 to 350 hp. The engine works in conjunction with the racing gearbox. Plus the sports car is equipped with a special exhaust system.
The announcement says that in 2017 the machine underwent a process of restoration. Sportscar recovered the oil separator, transmission, and fuel tank, and replaced the water pump, suspension levers, and wiring. Also, the model received new semi slip tires, while from the moment of restoration the two-door drove only 48 km.
