Jeep Wrangler 2018-2019 can not be ordered with small doors with removable plastic windows, since now the SUV is offered exclusively with full-sized doors equipped with electric windows.
At the same time for the car there are four options for the roof. You can choose versions with manually removable traditional Soft Top or with a removable hard top Hard Top, which is attached to the body on bolts.
The variant with the roof of the Freedom Top type is a kind of off-road target, where a rigid roof with two removable sections is installed above the front riders. The fourth option is the Power Top, which is a hard roof with a large sunroof built into it, which opens and closes with the help of an electric drive.
Plus, buyers can order an SUV at once with a soft and hard roof (the Dual Top option). The SUV interior is made in traditional stylistics, while in the base there is a 3.5-inch display of the instrument panel, and for a surcharge is available with a diagonal of 7.0 “.
The new Jeep Wrangler 2018 is still built on a spar frame and has a suspension with unbroken bridges in front and behind. There is also a downshift in the transmission. At the same time, the hood and doors are now made of aluminum alloy, which made it possible to slightly simplify the design.
The range of power units for the Rangler is represented by the previous 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine, as well as the new 2.0-liter turbo engine of the Tigershark family, whose output, according to the NHTSA, reaches 368 hp. As for the diesel modification, the 3.0-liter engine will replace the 2.8-liter engine.
Over time, the so-called mild hybrid (“soft hybrid”) version will appear for the car, where the above-mentioned internal combustion engines are additionally equipped with a low-power electric motor generator that helps with starting, muffling and starting the main engine while driving, and also generates energy during braking.
Motors of the new Jeep Wrangler 4 (JL) work in tandem with an eight-band automatic, available in two versions: its own production and from the German company ZF. In this case, for cars with a V6 engine, a six-speed mechanics is also available.
In addition, for the first time in the history of the model, Wrangler received an automatic all-wheel drive system that relies on machines in the top-of-the-line Sahara configuration (the remaining versions are equipped with classic Part-Time with a rigid front axle connection). Interestingly, the most “evil” configuration Rubicon additionally has a demultiplier and a reduction factor of 4.0.
The transmission control of the new Jeep Wrangler 2018-2019 is carried out with a classic lever, and the differential lock is from the button in the passenger compartment. And in the multimedia system there is a whole set of “off-road” tabs with settings.
Note that the simplest versions of the SUV have only a locking rear differential, while for the version of Rubicon, interlocking differentials on the rear and front are blocked, as well as the ability to deactivate the anti-roll bar.
