Toyota introduced the TS030 Hybrid car

Thirteen years later Toyota returns to Le Mans, where the Japanese company last performed in 1999 on a prototype GT-One. One of these days the presentation of the new car, dubbed TS030 Hybrid.
The body of the car, as well as its monocoque made entirely of carbon fiber. a prototype of a length of 4650 mm, width – 2000 mm, and height – 1030 mm. Front and rear suspension double wishbone-type push-rod, rear axle mechanical lock, the steering is fitted with the hydraulic booster.
The prototype Toyota TS030 Hybrid delivered on 18-inch wheels made ​​of magnesium alloy, used aluminum calipers and brake discs carbon-ceramics mechanisms. Tank capacity – 73 liters.
As the power plant on the car set the 3.4-liter naturally aspirated the V8, developed from scratch, as well as motor and supercapacitors are used instead of conventional batteries.
Torque is transmitted to the rear axle by a sequential six-speed gearbox with a multi-disc clutch, made of composite materials.
The new Toyota TS030 Hybrid has already passed a number of test runs on the French circuit Paul Ricard, and the first battle race held on May 5 on the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps, where the six-hour race will be held.
But the main challenge for the new items will be 24-hour Le Mans marathon (June 16-17). While the known composition of only one of the crew: it included Nicolas Lapierre and former racer of the Formula-1 – Alex Wurz and Kazuki Nakajima.
