It seems that the Indian company Tata decided to start receiving dividends from its investments in the British Jaguar Land Rover, which belongs to it. At the Auto Show in New Delhi, Tata introduced the concept of the H5X crossover, based on the Land Rover Discovery Sport platform.
The company says that they upgraded the platform taking into account the specifics of the local market, but what changes were made is unknown. The dimensions of the crossover are almost the same, but the H5X looks much more aggressive and stylish than the British car. However, while this is just a concept, but the Indians say that the serial version will be 80-85% repeat its appearance.
The interior of the H5X is too technological even for the Land Rover, not to mention the Tata. Virtual dashboard, two touchscreens on the center console, all around the sensors instead of buttons. The only “physical” button was the lever of the electromechanical parking brake on the central tunnel.
In the domestic market, the production version of the crossover will be offered in 5- and 7-seat versions. It is expected that the crossover will receive a two-liter MultiJet diesel produced by Fiat with a capacity of 140 and 170 hp.
