From of SsangYong has long been waiting for the new compact crossover, but at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 the South Korean automaker introduced the next version of the concept XIV, received the prefix “e” to the title. This is the third concept of the family XIV (eXciting user Interface Vehicle) – a five-door XIV-1 was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011, and this spring in Geneva presented the three-door modification XIV-2. As is clear from the title, this time in front of us an electric version of the crossover. The movement of the car leads to 80-kilowatt electric motor powered by lithium-ion batteries, full charge which provides a cruising range of 80 kilometers. On charging the battery takes four o’clock (at a special station fast charge energy can recharge in 20 minutes). This on-board SsangYong e-XIV has a two-cylinder internal combustion engine and a standard that can recharge the batteries on the move, increasing the range of up to six kilometers. Another distinctive feature of the new concept is a glass roof with built-in solar panels, the accumulated charge which is spent on the work of the radio, air conditioning and lighting.
