In April 2014 at a press conference in Beijing, it became known that the company is going to expand the Infiniti model range to include a subcompact crossover based on “charged” SUV Juke Nismo. In June, the manufacturer issued a teaser image with the future trends, and in the end of August there were official photos of the model. The car was named Infiniti ESQ, and its premiere will take place at the motor show in the Chinese Chengdu.
Compared with the source code, Infiniti ESQ received another grille with a label “ESQ”, chrome inserts on the back, as well as the large 18-inch wheels of a design. Inside, more expensive materials used in decoration and set a different wheel. Under the hood Infiniti ESQ will house a 1.6-liter turbo power of 200 hp (250 Nm), combined in a pair with no alternative variator transmitting traction on all wheels. From zero to hundreds of crossover speeds for the same 8.2 seconds as the Juke NISMO, while the maximum speed reaches a hundred kilometers an hour.
