The company has developed a prototype gas UAZ Patriot SUV, which will be engaged in testing experts from the Ministry of Energy. It is known that the movement of the machine results in a 2.7-liter engine that can run on either gasoline or compressed natural gas. The SUV is equipped with three metal-cylinders, each of which is designed for 55 liters. Being fully seasoned, UAZ Patriot CNG is able to travel up to 250 km in gas mode. According to specialists of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, the SUV on the gas by at least 40% more economical than conventional gasoline cars. The exact specifications of the prototype will be announced after May 31, 2016, when the UAZ Patriot CNG will be held the last test. It is expected that during the test the staff of the Ministry of Energy of Russia to estimate the frequency and duration of refills SUV, will take into account “subjective feelings” of the driver and passengers. Possibility of serial production of the Patriot is not considered, and the fate of the prototype will depend on the test results and the interest of people in this kind of machines.
