Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said that the French brand experts are considering the possibility of launching a series of new hot-hatch, which will compete for customers with the Ford Focus RS. It is expected that the model will receive a gasoline-electric propulsion and will markedly stronger existing 270-strong Peugeot 308 GTi. “We take part in various competitions such as the Dakar race, and do not intend to miss the opportunity to use sports cars designed for technology in our road models”, – said Imparato. According to him, the company does not plan to release a successor RCZ coupe and are going to make “hot” modification of a hatchback 308 next generation. Most likely, the novelty will receive some of the technologies and solutions from concept-308 Hybrid R, which was presented to the public in the spring of 2015. Recall that the latter is equipped with a gasoline-electric plant that produces 500 hp and 730 Nm. This “filling” concept allows you to accelerate from zero to hundred in 4.0 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
