In summer 2011, Peugeot has extended the first photos and details about the diesel-electric 508 RXH hybrid, which is shown to the public in the autumn motor show in Frankfurt. The car is built on the basis of the new station wagon Peugeot 508 SW, which premiered at the motor show in Paris last year, and its powerplant borrowed from the Peugeot 3008 crossover hybrid HYbrid4. In mid-June 2014, Peugeot presented the updated versions of the 508 2016 model year sedan and station wagon, as well as a restyled version of the RXH hybrid.
