In the framework of the elegance contest at Pebble Beach in 2017, a presentation of the conceptual roadster BMW Concept Z4 was held. The model is a pre-series version of the new generation BMW Z4 in the body of the G29, which is being developed by Toyota specialists. The car received unusual slanting headlights with vertical sections, as well as an atypical radiator grille for the Bavarians with huge nostrils. The roadster is also distinguished by a long hood, a rearward-shifted cabin, large air intakes in the front wings and a completely missing roof, which will be fabricated on the production car. The BMW Concept Z4 has an original automatic selector, as well as a beveled display of the multimedia system. The instrument panel is a virtual prototype with a mirror scale of the tachometer, and on the rim of the steering wheel, there are red shift buttons. Information about the technical filling of the concept is kept secret. At the moment it is known that the prototype is built on a rear-wheel-drive platform, developed jointly by Toyota engineers. This “cart” the Japanese are using on the revived Supra coupe. The serial version of the new BMW Z4 promise to be presented to the public in March 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. In terms of design, the commodity roadster will be almost identical to the concept, but its interior will be slightly simplified.
