Until recently, the so-called “waffle” markings had the status of “experimental” and could be seen only in certain cities of Asia, then from April 28, 2018, it was officially legalized at the federal level. Now in the traffic rules, there is a corresponding entry, according to which a penalty is provided for leaving for “waffle” markings. Henceforth in paragraph 13.2 it is said: “It is forbidden to go to the intersection, the intersection of carriageways or the section of the intersection indicated by the marking 1.26 if a traffic congestion is created ahead of the train which will force the driver to stop, creating an obstacle to the movement of vehicles in the transverse direction, except for turning to the right or to the left in the cases established by these rules. Fixation of violations on the “waffle” is automatic with the help of special cameras. The latter is able to recognize at once three types of violations, namely, travel to a red traffic light signal, exit for a stop line and turn from the wrong range. In addition to the yellow markings on the roads, you can see several new signs. For example, the sign 1.35 “Crossroads” in the form of a yellow square on a dark background with two intersecting diagonals is designed to warn drivers about the presence on the route of the same “wafer” markings (see photo).
