Mercedes presented the C63 DTM racing car

At the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 held a public screening of the new racing car Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM, the first official photo which manufacturer issued a couple of weeks before the show. Participation trends in the Touring Car Championship will start with the 2016 season.
The race car is based on the “charged” Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe and weighs less than 1 120 kg. Such a low weight has been achieved thanks to the wide use of carbon fiber. Thus, the Germans have made ​​of carbon fiber monocoque, propeller shaft and three-disc clutch.
Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM also got a steel safety cage, sporty aerodynamic composite and 18-inch wheels with 300 mm wide tires in front and 320 mm at the rear.
Coupe equipped with the 4.0-liter V8 engine with two turbines. The performance of the unit reaches 490 hpat 7500 rev/min and 500 Nm of torque. Works engine paired with a dedicated six sequential transmission.
