In mid-May, the official presentation of the flagship sedan Mercedes-Benz W222 S-Class, and in July the Germans declassified its “charged” modification of the S63 AMG. The world premiere of the two models was held at the September 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Externally, the new Mercedes S63 AMG (2015-2016) is not too stands out from the base version: Among the main differences can be noted a different front bumper with enlarged air intakes, side “skirts”, the four pipe exhaust system, other 19-inch wheels (available for extra charge wheel diameter of 20 inches) and a small decor.

Sedan is available with both a short and a longer wheelbase, the second version is equipped with a proprietary system 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The engine in the Mercedes S63 AMG – is 585-strong “eight” volume of 5.5 liter biturbo, which develops a peak torque of 900 Nm. Transmission – automatic AMG Speedshift MCT.

Compared with its predecessor, S63 AMG in the new W222 body became a hundred kilograms lighter – its weight sostvlyaet 1970 (Short) 1 995 kg (Long), respectively. Reduction contributed aluminum roof panel and the front of the body, forged wheels, composite brake discs, carboxylic niche for a spare wheel and a lithium-ion battery as a starter (instead of a conventional lead-acid).
In addition, the four-wheel drive Mercedes S 63 AMG W222 is equipped with adaptive air suspension AMG Ride Control, which has two operating modes: comfort and sport. On versions with rear-wheel drive set innovative Magic Body Control suspension with a stereoscopic camera in the windshield. It is also “charged” sedan differs from the usual stiffer front subframe and stabilizer bar increased thickness.
