Maserati Alfieri 2+2 Coupe Concept

The Maserati company has brought to the Geneva Motor Show in 2014 stylish conceptual Alfieri coupe, was named in honor of Maserati Alfieri. It was he who in 1914 opened a car repair shop in the vicinity of Bologna, which started the history of the Italian company. The basis of the Maserati Alfieri Concept laid down on the track chassis GranTurismo MC Stradale coupe, but shortened to 2 700 mm wheelbase. The total length of the prototype is 4590 mm, width – 1930, height – 1280. Above the model looks with a landing formula 2+2 worked a group of young professionals who drew inspiration for the design of classic Maserati models 3500 GT and 5000 GT, as well as some works of Sergio Pininfarina. Concept sports a LED lighting fixtures, a number of elements made of carbon fiber and aluminum, unusual wheels 20-inch front and 21 inch rear, and interior – minimalist design, electronic instrument panel and large LCD display on the center console. The movement Maserati Alfieri brings a 4.7-liter petrol “eight” power of 460 hp (520 Nm), is mounted in a pair with a dedicated six robotized transmission MC-Shift, transmitting traction on the rear axle. The dynamic characteristics of a compartment are not called. During the exhibition, the company said that the concept will go into production in the serine 2016 (the year after will be in the back of a convertible version). This design is the production version of Alfieri almost entirely repeat the prototype. The new product line will take place on the stage below the Maserati GranTurismo and will be positioned as a rival Jaguar F-Type and a Porsche 911 Carrera. Later it became known that as the base rear-drive powertrain Maserati Alfieri will receive 410-strong “six”, and still will be available with all-wheel drive modification. For them, the engine power boost to 450 and 520 “horses”.
