During a press conference at an automobile exhibition Interauto 2011 in Moscow, President of the Volga car – Igor Komarov said that the chief designer of AvtoVAZ from 1 October 2011 will occupy the Briton Steve Mattin (Steve Mattin). His career Steve started in 1987, took a job at DaimlerChrysler, and in 1997 he went to work at Mercedes-Benz, becoming the author of the design Mercedes-Benz A-Class model, as well as taking part in the development of the flagship S-Class in the previous body W220, SL roadster (R230), and the SUV ML-Class (W163) (Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe) and the GLS-Class. In the period from 2005 to 2009 Steve Mattin he was vice-president and design director in the company Volvo, where he led the creation of sedan and wagon 60th series, as well as midsize XC60 crossover.
