The Chinese company Roewe, part of the SAIC concern, introduced the compact RX3 crossover. The novelty is the “younger brother” of the model RX5, which, in turn, was developed with an eye on the Volkswagen Tiguan.
For the design of the Roewe RX3 is responsible Shao Jinfen, who before SAIC had several years to work for Volkswagen, so it’s no surprise that both crossover brands of the Chinese brand got some resemblance to the Tiguan.
Salon RX3 received a strict design and a two-tone finish with maroon inserts from leatherette. The SUV has a large touch screen multimedia system, which operates on the basis of the YunOS operating system, developed by the Chinese company Alibaba.
The length, width, and height of the Roewe RX3 reaches 4,408, 1,804 and 1,651 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2,625 millimeters. The car can be ordered either with a 1.6-liter atmospheric power of 125 hp or with a 1.3-liter “turbo-quater”, which develops 163 “horses.” For engines, there is an automatic gearbox, but the drive here is the only front.
As options for the all-terrain vehicle, climate control, engine start button, leather upholstery for seats, heated front seats and a panoramic roof are offered. In China, Roewe RX3 sales will begin before the end of 2017, there is no information about prices.
