The company’s vice president of strategy and planning Infiniti Francois Bankon said that the new generation of the SUV QX80 will not be equipped with a 5.6-liter V8, which in the current version of the model develops 405 hp and 560 Nm. According to a top manager, the company’s specialists have recognized such a motor obsolete, so the next Infiniti QX80 II in the new body will receive a 3.0-liter engine with two turbines. At the moment, such a unit equipped with the updated sedan Q50 and a new generation Q60 coupe. In the basic versions of these models the engine output, working in conjunction with the seven-step automatic machine, up to 300 hp and 400 Nm (at the top-end version of the engine produces 405 “horses” and 475 Nm of torque).
