From 23 to 26 June 2016 Festival of Speed will take place in the British Goodwood. The event will premiere track Mercedes-AMG GT R supercar. It is expected that this model will be a direct competitor to Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It is known that the track Mercedes-AMG GT R received a body kit that includes other bumper and grille, the additional air intakes and rear wing. It is reported that this kit helps to improve aerodynamics and increased downforce at high speeds. To reduce the weight of the vehicle, the Germans established on the coupe carbon fiber hood, fenders and trunk lid, as well as abandoned electric seats and redesigned dashboard. As a result of these improvements AMG GT R weight was 1520 kg, which is 50 kg lighter than the 510-strong modification of the road AMG GT S. It is expected that under the hood of new items placed 4.0-liter V8 with two turbines, whose returns have increased from 510 to 580 “horses”. To achieve the desired result, engineers have optimized intake system, installed a titanium exhaust and increased boost pressure. Probably for the new Mercedes-AMG GT R also retuned suspension and steering, and brake force. Dynamic characteristics, details about the technical stuffing, price and date of the start of sales will be announced later.
