The Germans presented an unusual coupe Opel GT Concept

In late January 2016, Opel presented the GT Concept coupe – his show to the general public will be held in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The prototype was developed in honor of the eponymous classic models produced in the late 60’s, and is intended to demonstrate the feature of the design of future models of the brand.
The movement of the Opel GT concept brings 1.0-liter aluminum engine which is equipped with serial Opel Adam, Corsa and Astra. But here it returns increased to 145 hp and 205 Nm of torque. Works engine paired with a dedicated six sequential transmission, which can be switched step paddles.
Since the Opel GT concept weighs less than a ton, then this engine it is enough. Claimed acceleration coupe from zero to hundreds of less than 8.0 seconds, while its top speed can reach 215 km/h.
Design trends turned out very interesting. Thus, the doors of the prototype work on the drive, and when you open them, “hiding” under the front wheel arches. Windshield Opel GT concept merges with the panoramic roof. This design solution provides the driver with an excellent overview, comparable to the visibility of cars in a body “targa”.
Rear-view mirrors Germans were replaced by cameras, the picture from which is displayed on the two screens, located on the left and right sides of the front panel, side windows tinted to match the body, and the front tires are painted red. Rounding out the image of the model matrix LED headlamps IntelliLux.
At Opel not rule out that if the concept of the public have to like it, in the future, the company can produce and the production version of the sports coupe GT. However, this will not happen soon, the automaker have no suitable platform.
