Smart Company will bring to the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 a concept called Vision EQ Fortwo. The novelty is designed to demonstrate how, according to the experts of the German brand, urban cars of the future should look like. The prototype received a futuristic exterior design with an unusual grille and completely glass doors. In its interior, there is no steering wheel and pedals, while a front screen is installed on which various information is displayed. You can control the basic functions of the car with voice commands or with a smartphone. Smart specialists decided to abandon the traditional controls due to the fact that, in their opinion, the city’s cars of the future should be equipped with a fifth-level autopilot, through which the car will be able to move independently within the boundaries of large settlements. The length, width, and height of Smart Vision EQ Fortwo reaches 2 699, 1 720 and 1 535 mm respectively. The concept is driven by an electric motor mounted on the rear axle, drawing energy for its operation from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 30 kWh. The range of the electric car is 300 km. It is interesting that if the battery is low, the electric car will go to the nearest charging station and replenish the battery reserve in an autonomous mode by means of an induction system, i.e. Without using any wires. In the company, Smart believe that in the future, such cars can be in demand in the developed system of the carseeing, because thanks to the autopilot the client will not need to go to the car because she will be able to independently approach it. Well, so that a person could understand that the car came just behind him, the representatives of the brand suggest to install in front a screen displaying the greeting with the customer’s name.
