In France, presented the MINI John Cooper Works GP 2014

On the MINI United event, the British-German automaker introduced a special version of its hatchback modification John Cooper Works, received the prefix to the name GP. World premiere of new items was postponed until the autumn motor show in Paris in 2012. According to the company, it is the fastest MINI ever produced. Under its hood is a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine boosted to 218 hp (260 Nm), is mounted in a pair with a six-speed manual transmission, transmitting traction on the front axle.
With this engine hatchback gaining a hundred places in 6.3 seconds (acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear takes 5.9 seconds) and top speed of 242 km/h. According to the automaker, the Nurburgring Nordschleife the new MINI John Cooper Works GP overcomes 8 minutes and 23 seconds. For comparison, it is faster Audi S5, BMW 335i E92, Nissan 350Z and the Jaguar XKR. Externally, the car can be distinguished by the exclusive 17-inch wheels, “shod” in the Kumho tire dimension 215/40 R17 and developed specifically for this model, as well as new front and rear bumper diffuser, side “skirts” with air intakes, carbon rear wing and GP logo sticker on the hood and sides of the bus. The interior of the new MINI JCW GP rid of the sofa back, and the standard front seats are replaced with sports seats by Recaro. Rounding out the picture of a sports leather steering wheel, chrome knob on the gearshift lever, and the black piano lacquer-coated front panel and inlays in the door panels. In terms of technology vehicle boasts migrated chassis with adjustable suspension (ride height can be changed within 20 mm) and dynamic stabilization system with the regime of racing modes GP. When and at what price hatchback goes on sale is not reported, but all will be released only 2000 copies of the MINI John Cooper Works GP.
