In September 2017, Ford introduced an updated version of the EcoSport crossover for the European market. The new model received a number of distinctive features both in terms of exterior design, and technically. Outside, the European Ford Ecosport 2018-2019 in the new body almost does not differ from the global version of the model, while the crossover for the Old World received an exclusive two-tone color of the body and an optional “sporty” ST-Line package that includes the installation of other bumpers and 17-inch wheels. Under the hood, Ford Ecosport 2018-2019 received a 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine of the new generation. This engine is equipped with a low-inertia turbocharger and an integrated intake manifold integrated in the head of the unit. Its performance is 125 hp. and 300 Nm of torque. The line of powertrains of the model retains the previous 1.5-liter diesel TDCi, whose output was increased from 95 to 100 forces, as well as a liter petrol turbo engine, available in two variants of forcing: 125 and 140 “horses.” The above engines work in conjunction with the new six-speed mechanics, but for cars with a 125-horsepower engine, you can order the automatic transmission for six gears. All versions of Eco Sports have a front-wheel drive, and only for the version with the new 1.5-liter diesel is available all-wheel drive. The suspension of the European Ford Ecosport has also undergone changes. The car was fitted with new shock absorbers and springs, and also replaced the beam of the rear semi-independent suspension. Plus adjustments have affected the settings of the steering mechanism and stabilization system. For a surcharge, xenon optics, a rear-view camera, cruise control, steering wheel heating and a control system for “blind” zones became available. The production of the new Ford Ecosport for the Old World was established at the enterprise in Craiova (Romania). In the salons of European dealers, crossovers will reach the end of 2017, there is no information about prices.
