At the Detroit Motor Show in 2014 the Japanese automaker introduced a conceptual coupe Toyota FT-1 (the name stands for Toyota Future 1), which was designed in the California studio Calty.
Externally, the FT-1 Concept looks extremely unusual for Toyota, it looks more like a prototype Lexus LF-LC for its many twists and air intakes. The company noted that the establishment of appearance Toyota FT-1 they were inspired by models like the 2000GT, Celica, Supra, MP2 and 86GT.
Interior concept Toyota FT-1 is made in a minimalist style, and quite futuristic. Ruleove wheel with flattened rim and carbon inserts evokes associations with the controls of a Formula 1 car and the main indicators of the instrument are displayed on the projection screen.
As planned by the Toyota FT-1 Concept is rear-drive coupe front-engine with high-performance gasoline engine. But the prototype is no technical stuffing, but it can be tested in the virtual world by uploading to the simulator Gran Turismo 6.
