The German company Continental unveiled a prototype of the so-called sensor “paddle”, with which you can control various functions of the car. The company‘s specialists are involved in its development of TOF sensor with an integrated 3D-camera. The latter is able to determine the position of the hands of the driver to the nearest millimeter. With this technology, the driver can scroll menu on the dashboard, change the music and to specify the final destination for the navigation system. Continental Development can also be paired with a gesture recognition system. For example, in order to answer the call, the driver will be enough to raise the thumbs up without taking your hands off the wheel. It is expected that in the serial cars “sensor pitch” Continental is displayed in the foreseeable future.
