The Citroen C4 Cactus SUV

Citroen Company unveiled the production version of the ordinary compact crossover called C4 Cactus, which, surprisingly, turned out to be very similar to the concept version, first shown in the autumn of 2013 in Frankfurt. The basis of the new Citroën C4 Cactus lay truck Platform 1, which built hatchback Citroen C3 and Peugeot 208. Overall length of the model is 4160 mm (size of the wheelbase – 2600), width – 1730, height – 1 480 Trunk volume is 358 liters.
The vehicle was designed taking into account the speed limit of 190 km/h, allowing engineers to optimize the pre-mass and size of the elements onto the suspension, brakes and cooling system. The resulting mass crossover is only 965 kg, as much as 200 kg lighter compared with Citroen C4. As promised, in the production of Citroen C4 Cactus went with panels “Air Bump”, located in the bumpers and on the side of the body. In its structure, they resemble the inflated air cushion and are designed to protect the body from the strain with little bumps.
Surprisingly, not only outwardly resembles a serial SUV prototype – the same applies to interior decoration. Inside, Citroen C4 Cactus reigns simplicity and minimalism. However, the main difference from the concept are reduced only to a different steering wheel, another screen multimedia system and a modified air ducts.
Instead of separate front seats set-piece sofa, a robotized transmission control made on the buttons, and the role of the instrument panel performs a set of driving the LCD. Among other chip models can be noted with integrated wiper nozzles and a panoramic roof with a higher degree of protection against ultraviolet rays.
For the first time in the Citroen C4 Cactus will install a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol turbo power of 82 hp, as well as several options of diesel engines with recoil from 92 to 110 forces.
