At the motor show in Geneva, 2018 will premiere a new Citroen Berlingo Multispace van of the third generation, which not only changed superbly outside and inside but also moved to another platform, grew and became even more universal. From now on, the design of Citroen Berlingo 2018-2019 (photo, price) is made in the style of the last crossover of the brand with two-story optics, and on the sides, there were protective pads Airbump. Multicolored inserts on them and in the front bumper are part of the personalization program. In addition to the completely reformed front, the car stands out with a shorter and taller hood, shifted slightly forward with the windshield, fashionable over the wheel arches, plus the XTR version with a protective all-weather body kit remained in the line. At the same time, for the new Citroen Berlingo, the designers retained the characteristic shape of the side windows with chamfered corners, and the extended seven-seat modification of the XL was now made more accurately – without a rough insert to the rear overhang. For the model, there are discs with a diameter of up to 17 “and eight options for painting the body: black, white, sand, two versions of gray, red, blue and green. In the van, you can see a real revolution – from the utilitarian interior of the predecessor, there is no trace, especially inexpensive versions. Here, a fashionable steering wheel and a modern instrument panel, far advanced to the driver of the center console shelf with the gearshift lever in the manner of the minivans, and above the ventilation nozzles the screen of the multimedia system is placed. In top versions, its diagonal is 8.0 inches, and the multimedia itself supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink, there is also navigation, SOS button and wireless charging for smartphones. Passenger airbag moved to the ceiling so that the front panel could find a place for a second glove box. In total, in the Berlingo saloon there are 28 different niches for small items with a total capacity of 186 liters, and for a surcharge there is a lifting rear window and a multifunctional Modutop roof combining glass sections in the roof and special compartments beneath them that withstand loads of up to 10 kg and allowing another 92 liters of volume . As before, on the second row there are three separate armchairs of the same size, but now they are conveniently folded to the floor, forming a flat area, plus the central one got Isofix fastening (earlier they were only provided for the side ones), and the rear windows received normal window lifters instead of sliding windows. Extended Berlingo XL allows you to place the third row with two more seats.
Citroen Berlingo 2018-2019 in the new body uses a combined platform. Front instead of the former PSA PF2 is now used modular “trolley” EMP2 (with electric power steering and increased wheel angles), with the rear left with an old scheme with a compact suspension design. This solution allowed to minimize the size of wheel arches for the sake of space in the cabin. The overall length of the five-meter wagon is 4,400 mm (+ 20), the wheelbase has grown to 2,780 (+ 52), the width has increased to 1,850 (+ 40), the height to 1,810 (+ 9). The seven-seater version has a length of 4,750 millimeters (+ 340), and the distance between its axes is 2,970 (+ 190). The volume of the luggage compartment of the five-seat Berlingo Multispace (characteristics) is 775 liters (+ 100), and the version of the HL holds already 1,050 liters (although it is a car without a third row). If you additionally order the folding front passenger seat, then in the van you can carry the length gauges from 2.7 to 3.05 meters. As power units for the car, petrol, and diesel engines are provided. The first is the 1.2-liter PureTech at 110 and 130 hp, and the second is the new 1.5H BlueHDi turbodiesel, which is offered in three levels of boosting: 75, 100 or 130 hp. Combined all in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission, but as an alternative instead of the old robot with a single clutch appeared full-fledged 8-band automatic machine firm Aisin (it is laid only to 130-strong modifications). And the new Berlingo XTR relies on the Grip Control system, which changes the operating modes of the traction control system for a more confident ride outside the asphalt.
