At the Geneva motor show in 2016 hosted a presentation of conceptual turbo-electric TREV hypercar, developed by experts of the Chinese company TechRules. The name is an acronym for the prototype and stands for Turbine-Recharging Electric Vehicle.
The movement of the Chinese leading supercar powerplant, consisting of 6 electric motors, each of which weighs 13 kg. It is known that in the front wheels of the prototype installed on one unit, and in the rear – two. The total output of the power plant reaches 1044 hp.
Electric motors are powered by a set of lithium-ion battery capacity of 20 kWh, which generates energy for “micro-turbo-generator”. The Chinese point out that only one electric hypercar is able to drive about 150 km. When the filled to the brim with 80-liter fuel tank, the total stock of the progress of the concept can reach 1 930 km.
At the exhibition in Geneva, the Chinese have brought just two versions of the concept: a track AT96 TREV (Aviation Turbine) and road GT96 TREV (Gas Turbine). It is known that the microturbine track modifications able to consume jet fuel, gasoline or diesel, and the road version works or biogas, or methane. However, you can recharge the battery and external power source, but it will take about 40 minutes.
According to the TechRules company TREV working prototype has been successfully tested at the British Silverstone track. For acceleration from zero to hundreds of hypercar it took only 2.5 seconds. Max Concept speed can reach 350 km/h.
The production version of the road modification TREV may appear “in a couple of years”. Her plan to release a limited edition.
