Recall that a regular Honda Civic hatchback 5D current generation debuted in the fall of 2011. Initially, the appearance of the new Honda Civic Type R waiting for in 2013, but at the exhibition in Geneva 2014 the Japanese presented a conceptual version of future trends, which was designed to give a visual representation of how the production car will look like.
As a result, the wait is almost justified. Alas, the ready-to-manufacture Civic Type R hatchback (2016) lost LED running lights in the front bumper and incredibly stylish rear lights integrated into the rear wing. But everything else was saved. The car flaunts an aggressive front bumper with large air intakes and splitter, a new grille, extended wheel arches, under the 19-inch wheels, side “skirts”, additional air vents in the front wings, the diffuser in the rear bumper with four round tailpipes of the exhaust system and thus wing, however, a somewhat different form.
The manufacturer calls the new Honda Civic Type R “race car for public roads”. Lapping way engaged at Suzuki and Nürburgring, and body kit developed using computational fluid dynamics, followed by blowing a wind tunnel. As a result, the level of aerodynamics kits can reduce aerodynamic drag and increase downforce. Inside, Honda Civic Type R 2016 fitted sports seats with improved lateral support, new steering wheel and gearshift lever, metal plates on the pedals, as well as a modified instrument panel. The decoration used plastic, leather and Alcantara in black and red colors.

Already in the basic equipment includes powerful brakes from Brembo with 350 mm discs and four-piston calipers in front. Also on the model debuted mode electronics “+ R” to ride on the track. When you activate it reduces the response time of the engine accelerator pedal, increases the sharpness of steering response, and adaptive suspension Adaptive Damper System translates into the most hard mode.
You must beat the time of 7 minutes 54.3 seconds, as shown in five-door Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R in May 2014. And in the pre-series version they succeeded (7 minutes 50.63 sec.), But later the manufacturer will try to do it again – this time on a standard machine.
