BMW has unveiled two models of time under its new sub-brand “i”, which was created for the production of electric vehicles and hybrids. As long as both machines are only concepts, production of which will begin in 2013, but to see them live will be this autumn in Frankfurt. The first novelty was the compact city hatchback BMW i3, formerly known under the name of Mega City. It i3 will be the first mass-produced electric in the history of the Bavarian automaker. It is reported that the CD is driven by a 170-horsepower electric motor (250 Nm), the time of transmission to the rear axle. From zero to the city 60 km/h and it is capable to be dispersed for four seconds, and up to a hundred – eight seconds. Top speed is limited to one hundred and fifty. The second concept was the sports coupe BMW i8 with the landing formula 2+2. Unlike the all-electric i3, this model is a hybrid. Then I set the same motor, but it is already rotates the front axle and the rear is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol turbo, issuing 220 hp and peak torque of 300 Nm. From zero to hundreds Coupe accelerates in 4.6 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.
