Audi has continued to experiment with hybrid technology, this time as a basis in Ingolstadt took a five-door hatchback Audi A3 Sportback 2013, which received a name already well known prefix e-tron. The new version of Audi A3 e-tron is equipped with a hybrid power plant that combines a 1.4-liter gasoline turbo TFSI 150 hp, 75-kilowatt electric motor and a specially designed dedicated six transmission eS tronic, transmitting traction on the front axle.
The total output is 204 hp installation and 350 Nm of torque. From zero to hundreds Audi A3 e-tron accelerates in 7.6 seconds and a top speed hybrid hatchback reaches 222 km/h. According to the automaker, the average fuel consumption in the combined cycle, the novelty is just 1.5 liters per 100 km, and the level of CO2 in the atmosphere of the election – 35 g/km. But it provided a permanent electric use. Total car has three driving modes: only the internal combustion engine, only the electric engine and the combined version. Pure electric A3 e-tron is able to cover a distance of 50 km at a velocity not exceeding 130 km/h. On a full charge the battery from a household network takes four hours, and at special stations to fill up capacity can be twice as fast.
