In January 2018 at the Auto Show in Detroit premiere of the all-terrain Acura RDX Concept. The prototype is a harbinger of a third-generation model, while outwardly the crossover is practically ready for serial production. Judging by the photo of the new Acura RDX 2019, its design is made in the new proprietary styling “Acura Precision”, while it is known that the serial version will also receive a sports version of the A-Spec with a more aggressive body kit and a number of other distinctive features. The interior of the car is trimmed with high-quality leather and flaunts with decorative inserts made of aluminum and olive ash. The main feature of the interior of the new RDX 3 was the appearance of the True Touchpad interface. The latter represents a 10.2-inch display floating above the front panel of the multimedia system, which is controlled from the touchpad located at the bottom of the center console.
Acura RDX 2018-2019 is built on a new proprietary platform, which is further planned to be used in the development of other models of the brand. It is known that the wheelbase of the novelty reaches 2 748 mm (+ 63.5), but the rest of the information on the chassis is kept secret. The car is driven by a 2.0-liter “turbo-quater” DHC VTEC, working in conjunction with a ten-speed automatic. The same engine is completed with the latest Honda Accord where the power unit develops 252 hp. (369 Nm). Here the performance of the engine may be higher, but the exact values are not disclosed yet. All-wheel drive versions of the new model Acura RDX will be equipped with the Honda system Super Handling AWD with thrust vector control, while the company assures that the rear differential is able to digest 150% more torque. The list of equipment for the serial RDX will include an adaptive suspension with four modes of operation, a panoramic roof, all-LED optics, a projection display on the windshield and numerous electronic assistants. Issue Acura RDX 3 will be at the American plant in East Liberty, bundling and prices will be announced in the spring of 2018, and the first customers will receive their cars in the summer.
