Reports that Nissan is forced to conduct two large recall campaigns, but for one reason – because of the notorious pillows of Takata.
In the first action, the Japanese will recall 106,340 copies of models Almera, Navara, Patrol, Teana, Terrano II, Tino and X-Trail, released from February 19, 2009, to November 28, 2012. These cars have a defect in the front passenger airbag.
The second tip will affect already 127,738 vehicles, including Note and Tiida models, collected from August 30, 2008, to August 1, 2014. Here, the defect was detected in the driver’s airbag.
In the press release, it is noted that all these machines use air ammonium nitrate in the airbags gas generator, which in time can deteriorate and lead to the destruction of the cell body, which is fraught with the release of metal fragments into the cabin.
Official Nissan dealers promise to replace gas generators free of charge, while the list of VIN-numbers of all cars subject to recall has already been posted on the website.
